Ice Cream Social
Submitted by nmapes on Wed, 03/03/2010 - 1:04amIn an effort to help support Triangle Rowing Club(TRC) our next RRC Social event will be next Wednesday March 10th from 7-9p at the Cold Stone Creamery located in the Crossroads Shopping Center, Cary.
We are very fortunate to be working closely with TRC this year. They are supporting RRC by volunteering and or competing at the D.I.R.T. erg competition (March 20th) and are supporting our LTR and sweep rowing endeavors.
All you have to do is to mention TRC when ordering your ice cream that night and part of the creamery proceeds go to help TRC. So tell all your family, friends, and neighbors to go out and have some great ice cream next Wednesday night!
Durham Indoor Rowing Trials! RRC's Own Indoor Rowing Event!
Submitted by nmapes on Thu, 02/25/2010 - 2:54amThe weather this winter has just not been conducive to rowing. First the lake froze, then it snowed, and now we're headed for more wintry weather this weekend. While you wait for warmer days, why not prepare for our very own indoor rowing competition in March? As some of you recall, RRC sponsored a rowing competition at Gold's Gym in 2008. This year, the competition will be at CrossFit Durham and it will be an event to remember.
All participants receive a T-shirt (like a 5k!) and the top three male and female finishers in each category will receive medals (swag! like a 5k!). This event is also a fundraiser for RRC, so if you aren't interested in racing, please consider volunteering. CrossFit Durham and RRC would like to see this event grow into a C.R.A.S.H.-B. qualifier in the next couple of years and as you well know, volunteers can make or break an event.
Here are the details:
